Welcome back to my new article.
Today in this article I'm going to tell you about what does 32k, 64k and 128k mean (written on SIM cards). I think many of you so many times may thought about this but very few of you may got and so many guys may not. !
In the technology evolution we are present using 64k and 128k SIM cards in our feature and smart-mobiles which replaced 32k SIM cards.
Let me firstly say the 3 important assumptions that most of the people think > >
01.In may forums I saw that the 32k, 64k and 128k represents the capacity of data storage which is used for contacts, messages and other details storage. That is 32k means it indicates 32 Kilobytes data storage capacity and so on.
02. But when I saw in my academic books I found that it actually means and represents the data transfer speed by the SIM cards. For example for 64k card, it represents 8000 samples * 8 bytes per second and it shows better transfer speed, sample rate than 32k.
03. Another assumption that may people raises is, every SIM card stores 250 contacts and additionally
- 32k has room for 33 mobile network codes(MNCs) and
- 64k has room for 80 MNCs.
This MNCs are used by mobile operators for some particular and additional services like data transfer technology, roaming.
From above three different assumptions the third one is the most realistic and most experts say as true one.
Please mention your opinions regarding to this article in the comment box it will helpful to readers.

In my point of view data transfer is not fine to relate to our SIM, it depends upon only MOBILE as well as our NETWORK Memory(ROM+RAM=32KB)in KB,Data transfer means it in KBPS(Kilo Bits Per Sec).
