ISRO to face challenging task on September 24, 2014

India has became the first Asian nation, entered into the sphere of influence of the Mars Planet. But today (September 24, 204114) the Indian Scientists may have to face the tough challenge ahead of the MOM (Mars Orbital Mission) orbital insertion.

The mission launched on November 5, 2013 with the estimated low budget of Rs.450 crores with the intention of Scientific Exploration of the Martian. The PSLV-C25 launches Mars orbiter Mission spacecraft from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andra Pradesh, India.

On December 1, 2013 Orbiter catapulted from its earth-orbit into a Mars intercept trajectory (Trans-Mars injection). And on 4th December 2014 spacecraft leaved the sphere of earth Earth at 9.25 lakh Kilometer.
On Monday this week (22nd September 2014) after 10 months of its long voyage, the Indian Space Research Organisation Scientists test fired the Propulsion System, called 440 Newton engine for 4 seconds. It was actually at an idle state for past 10 months. The thumping success of this test fire boosted the confidence of the ISRO Engineers for its performance on 24th September. They also controlled the speed of the spacecraft to 2.14 meter per second from 2.2 Kilometer per second for smooth enabling of Orbital insertion. The task on 24th September, Spacecraft orbital insertion is the crucial and challenging to the Scientists.
Actually the mission has the three major Challenges:
 01. The first one is the launch of MOM (Mars Orbital Mission) using PSLV-XL in November 2013.
 02. Trans Mars injection done in December 2013. Here the challenge was to give the specific velocity at different and specific periods.
03 And final one is the Mars Orbit Insertion which going to undertake on Wednesday (24th September) to insert the spacecraft at an estimated altitude of 515 Kilometers.
The spacecraft will be ignited with eight small liquid engines and a Liquid Apogee Motor (LAM) to insert into the Mars Orbital.
"If everything goes by our original plan, the Mangalayan has the total life time of six months"
 - Said ISRO Chairman Dr K Radhakrishnan hours before the Orbital insetion. There are nearly 100 scientists directly involved in this mission.
Hope this spacecraft will be the first one that enter into the orbit of Mars in its first attempt. . .
All the best Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Scientists.
