The 20-20-20 rule is quite effective at reducing eye strain. As it name indicates 20-20-20 means- after every 20 minutes of looking at the screen, look at an object that is at least at a 20 feet distance for 20 seconds. Keeping the twenty minute breaks isn't easy when you are in the middle of important work, So here I'm suggesting you to use the app called Protect your vision which actually does the entire work without you acknowledge.
The app Protect your vision works as follows:
Open the Protect your vision website > click 20-20-20 > select your break schedule from drop-down menu. Here you may go with 20-20-20.
You can easily understand the setting process once you see it. Once you fix your break , click the black button labelled " Request permission and test notification"

> . Now a timer appears , showing you the time till your next break. You may disable sound notifications by clicking the volume icon next to the timer. Once you see notification click start break . Now your screen will go dark for the duration of the break. You should look at a point 20 feet away, alternatively, you may click start eyes Gymnastics on your screen and the apps show you some eye exercises.
Note: It is better to cut out blue light which leads to digital eye strain.
But it is better to buy the gadgets having anti-glare screens to reduce your eye strain , besides these apps . If you haven't done this, you can buy yourself an anti-glare screen coating . It costs ranging from Rs.1,000 to Rs.2,000.
